So you want to wear the shoes you love again…
“If I can’t wear nice shoes it’s a life changer!
If I’m wearing a $500 outfit, the last thing I want to be wearing on my feet are a pair of sneakers or Sketchers!”
Kerry S. 2022
What we wear can have a tremendous impact on how we think and feel about ourselves. Even our behaviour and perceived experience of the world can be influenced…simply based on what we are wearing. There are so many stories I’ve heard from women in particular about how they’re so excited about wearing the most amazing outfit they’ve just bought for an upcoming family wedding; yet before my own eyes I can see a physical change in their energy and enthusiasm as it changes more to disappointment, when they explain they can only “pull off the day” in a pair of “sneaker style” shoes because of foot pain, or a pair of flat grandma style sandals because their bunion or heel is too painful in anything else. And only just the other day when Kerry mentioned she’s had to resort to wearing a pair of Sketchers with her $500 outfit…less than ideal when you’re wanting to feel at your confident best and need to bring you’re A-game in the corporate world!
Yes. Being unable to wear the shoes you love because foot pain or bunions are holding you back can be a life changer! But it doesn’t have to be, and there are solution options available, and by taking action you can change your story to a happier narrative.
The natural option that I’ll be revealing, can help structural conditions of the feet just like ball of foot pain, toe pain, heel pain and bunions, and it involves no surgery, no injections, and in most cases no orthotics; so you can start wearing the shoes you love again!
By taking action and getting to the cause of your foot pain problem and fixing it, you can take back the freedom to choose the shoes you want to wear; feel more confident, more excited, get more active and feel younger, all because you’re no longer having to put up with foot pain. So, if you’re sick and tired of having to compromise on your choice of footwear because of foot pain then read on, because I’m going to reveal what you can do about it!
Shoe shopping doesn’t have to be a chore and it shouldn’t have to be! It should be a fun experience and best enjoyed on a day out with a girlfriend and a cup of coffee!
Do you agree with me?
Shoe shopping can be frustrating at the best of times when you can’t find what you want. Ironically, what happens to me is that I often find that when I’m not looking, I often find the perfect shoe (or any fashion item for that matter), but when I need to find something specific…”crickets!”
Has this ever happened to you?
Then add on top of this, all the footwear recommendation tips you must consider to ensure you’re not going to aggravate your particular foot pain complaint any further, and you’re literally striking shoes off your list before you even start!
Does the shoe have rearfoot or forefoot cushioning, extra depth in the toe box or what sort of arch support does it provide?
Is the shoe deep enough to be able to accommodate your orthotics?… very tricky in most cases and especially when you’re looking for a fashionable on trend shoe for that upcoming wedding!
Does the shoe have a reinforced heel counter or not? If your shoe doesn’t, then your foot will naturally try to compensate by clawing the toes to help keep the shoe on the foot. This can not only further aggravate already existing conditions like toe pain and ball of foot pain, but over time because the soft tissues have to work much harder than they need to, they tighten up and the risk of toe deformity increases. This can of course lead to clawed toes! So, if there is no reinforced heel counter, then you need to look for additional stability features such as straps around the middle of the foot and ankle, to help reduce the reliance on the front of the foot.
And when it comes to bunions, you need to not only consider the above features but also the type of material; is it soft enough so it’s not causing too much friction over that bunion? The width: to ensure you can comfortably accommodate that bunion in an enclosed shoe…The style; strappy and open toed so you can fit the bunion in between the straps…but wait! You don’t want to have your feet on display because you don’t like the way they look!
…and let’s not forget our gentleman! Men can suffer from bunions also. It was only just last weekend whilst I was out in the garden that I found myself in a conversation with our neighbour. We hadn’t talked about what I did for work before and when she found out, she told me the story about her 96-year-old father-in-law, who had to cut a hole in the side of his shoes, so he was able to wear a pair of enclosed shoes on his feet in his final years! WOW!
I don’t need to preach here, you’ve read this far, and the only people who have read this far are typically the people who know exactly what I’m talking about!
But what if you could do away with all the worry about what the hell you’re going to do about finding the right shoe, that doesn’t make your foot pain worse?!
If you want to know what you can do about this, and how you can get rid of those relentless shoe shopping frustrations that you’ve had to deal with up to this point, then please keep reading. I’m about to reveal a solution that will help…and it’s completely natural. No drugs, no surgery, no cortisone and in most cases, no more orthotics!
Now is the time to do something about this shoe problem you’ve been having, because the longer you leave it, the longer it’s going to be before you can start feeling excited about wearing those shoes you love, again!
Here’s what you can do about it!
Foot Mobilisation Therapy fixes the cause not just the symptoms!
By using the gentle, ‘hands-on’ specialised techniques of Foot Mobilisation Therapy, we can help correct the joint displacements, including those of the big toe joint – the bunion!
The images below are from a published article: JEDYNAK, T. 2009. Treating hallux abducto valgus conservatively through foot mobilisation techniques and exercise therapy. A case study. Podiatry Now, October 12-15, and shows changes in the big toe joint alignment following Foot Mobilisation Therapy treatment.
By addressing the cause and putting the structures of the foot back into the correctly aligned position, the muscles, ligaments, and tissues around the joints aren’t working harder than they need to – which often results in the inflammation and pain that you may be feeling in your feet, such as heel pain, toe pain and arch pain. What this means in terms of the bunion, is that if you can reduce the angle of deviation of the big toe joint through FMT, the bunion doesn’t protrude as much, which means a far more comfortable fit in shoes, no rubbing, and no pain…and you can also feel better about the way your feet look too!
And to maximise the benefits of your Foot Mobilisation Therapy treatments, your practitioner will also likely prescribe specific corrective exercises. These are done from the comfort of your own home in just a few minutes a day and ensure that you achieve the best possible results by helping your foot strength, flexibility and balance improve; allowing you to maintain the corrective changes quite independently for the long term.
Everything works best when it’s in the right place!
When restoring the normal range of pain-free joint motion using FMT and corrective exercises, your feet become more correctly aligned and can function as nature intended, therefore allowing the incredible power of your body’s internal healing system to work its magic. This allows you to naturally heal your foot pain problems in most cases without the need for orthotic insoles, the “clunky” special shoes to fit them in, drugs, or surgery so that you can start wearing the shoes you love again, feel more excited and confident with what you’re wearing, and get back to the activities you enjoy.
So, let me ask you this, why continue to put yourself through the trial and tribulation of trying to find a stylish shoe for work or going out, that doesn’t look clunky or grandma-ish, and that must tick all the boxes that have been recommended for you by your podiatrist, when you can keep it simple and FIX THE CAUSE!
By fixing the cause vs compromising on the selection of shoes that you need to help manage the symptoms, you can win back the freedom of choosing and wearing the shoes you love, without giving up on style and style that you can afford, and most importantly without the worry of foot pain stopping you!
Sure, you can go to great podiatry-based brands such as Frankie’s and Ecco, and don’t get me wrong, they have some gorgeous designs available, but the choices are still limited and not everyone has the same budget.
